TL;DR reinventing incidental interactions in the workplace using collaborative games
Negative consequences have arisen for both employees and their companies as workplaces grow increasingly remote. How do we improve employee wellness and help establish a healthy hybrid work environment?
Over the past few months, my team and I have been engaged in an ongoing design project seeking to replicate the missing human connections uniquely present in physical workspaces. Without shared LaCroix fridge conversations and catching up at a coworker’s desk, companies have seen a drop in the creativity and productivity usually sparked by these casual interactions. As all workplaces reconsider the balance of on-site versus remote work, we seek to understand the phenomenon of incidental workplace interactions and how to encourage them in non-physical spaces.
